Female IBS Applies to: Female 18-65 years of age IBS affects approximately 10-20% of the general population. It is the most commonly diagnosed disease by gateroenterologist and one of the most common disorders seen by primary care physicians. IBS is characterized by a group of symptoms in which abdominal pain or discomfort is associated with a change in bowel pattern, such as loose or more frequent bowel movements or diarrhea, and/or hard or less frequent bowel movements or constipation.
Local physicians are participating in a nationwide research study of an investigational drug for women with IBS-d or IBS-a.
You may be eligible to participate if you: -Are a woman between the ages of 18-65 -Have experienced the symptoms of IBS-d or IBS-a in the last 3 months
Qualified participants will receive all study-related care, including physical exams, laboratory tests and the study drug at no charge.
